Urvina Bay

The next place we went was to Urvina Bay on Isabela. Actually, this was probably my least favorite spot, but I should add some pictures anyway. Normally, you can see many land iguanas here, but because there was a ranger doing research and tagging the iguanas, they were all hiding. We actually only saw one. You can see him here and in the next picture, one of the holes they dig - they are quite large.

Perhaps the best part of this island were the plants. They had this plant called the Glueberry bush and if you squeeze these little fruits, there is a gluelike substance that comes out - very sticky! There were also poison apple trees here, cotton bushes, zigzag spiders, etc. We saw quite a few carpinter bees, which are the best pollinator in the Galapagos.
