On to Isabela

We took a long boat ride over to the West coast of the Galapagos where many boats do not go. We first went to Punta Moreno on Isabela island, but as I did not sleep the night before due to the massive movements of the boat as well as having a pretty bad cold, I decided to sleep that morning. Scott will have to fill in the details of this spot later. In the afternoon, we went out into the mangroves at this site in our pangas and kayaks. If you have been wondering what a panga is, you can see one of them here. Scott is in it, but hidden behind some people.

There was a lot of wildlife to see here! Many sea turtles swam under water all around us. There were also plenty of rays in the water. They are spotted eagle rays and though you cannot see the spots here, we did see some young ones that had very noticeable spots.

We also saw one of our favorite animals (the sea lion) sleeping lazily on a mangrove tree. Not a typical spot you would expect to see one, but it was so cute! My new favorite animal, the Galapagos penguin was here too. We were able to get so close, so I took a million pictures.

We took the pangas over to a couple of small islands with cool red rock and saw many birds and penguins here too. Once again, the famous blue footed boobie!
