Floreana Island

On the third day, we made our way to Floreana Island. In the morning, we went to Punta Cormorant, where there was a large lagoon called Flamingo Lagoon. You can see why it was called that. It had striking scenery and we could see many flamingos. Flamingos get their pink coloring because of the plankton that they eat. When we walked up onto a lookout to look down at the flamingos, you could see bright pink tracks from the path they take eating. They scoop a bunch into their mouth and take in what they need and discard the rest. The rest is this awesome pink trail that you can see here.

On this island, we also saw lava lizards. We actually saw lava lizards on many of the islands and they looked a little different everywhere. In some places, they had red heads, but neutral colored bodies.
