But good days follow

The next day we went to Santa Elena cloud forest (next to Monteverde for those of you who know that name). From what a guide was telling us, a cloud forest is actually very different from a rainforest. Rainforests only exist at lower elevations. This forest was at about 5400 feet and stays wet throughout the year by the clouds coming up and keeping them misted. We are in the dry season now, but the forest was still very wet. I guess in the wet season, you have to wear rain gear and boots in order to get through.

This was unlike anythign I have ever seen. The foliage was so dense and so green and there were so many plants around... moss growing on everything, etc. etc. - it was spectacular! There was so much green that when you did actually see some color, it really stood out!
