Christmas Party

Last Saturday night, Scott took me to the Stratagene Holiday party. It was fun to get all dressed up and feel Christmasy. I got to see a lot of old friends I hadn't seen in a while and meet some new ones. The party was a gambling one with fake money, so I stuck at the roullette table and won big! Too bad there was no money involved. After the party, a few of us went out late and all the girls took their boys' ties - weren't we cute!? I got a little out of control with some helium balloons that we took from the party and I have quite a few of these videos like you'll see below. (Tiff's embarrassed face).

Julian

On the weekend of Thanksgiving (I know, my posts are late), Kim and I went up to Julian - a cute and quaint little mountain town for the day. We had every good intention of hiking, but the shops just called our names, so we shopped, ate and got some apple pie, which Julian is famous for. It's really a beautiful area and made us feel like it was really fall! She's another Southerner (from Atlanta) and spent 9 months in Costa Rica. It was really fate that had us meet!

Your 1st Christmas Joke

Three men died on Christmas Eve and were met by Saint Peter at the pearly gates "In honor of this holy season," Saint Peter said, "you must each possess something that symbolizes Christmas to get into heaven."

The first man fumbled through his pockets and pulled out a lighter. He flicked it on. It represents a candle, he said. You may pass through the pearly gates Saint Peter said.

The second man reached into his pocket and pulled out a set of keys. He shook them and said, "They're bells." Saint Peter said you may pass through the pearly gates.

The third man started searching desperately through his pockets and finally pulled out a pair of women's panties. St. Peter looked at the man with a raised eyebrow and asked, "And just what do those symbolize?" The man replied, "These are Carols."

And So The Holiday Season Begins

Thanksgiving

I had a great Thanksgiving this year with good friends and even better food! Well, I guess I shouldn't say that. ;-) Here are Katie and Kris getting ready in the kitchen and sneaking some food while at it. There was a great "sushi" dish brought made of twinkies, fruit roll-ups and gummy fruit - how creative!

Kris and Alex have a turkey fryer and fried us a turkey. It was so moist and yummy! Here is my new FUN scarf that Katie made - Thanks Katie!

Josh, Scott and I were on the green team. :D The Japanese girls really loved the turkey. They ate it down to the carcass!

Then came the unpleasant, but necessary task of cleaning - I was the photographer during this activity. ;-)

Everyone started to get quite tired from the huge meal. Alex and I, however found a new game that kept us going until late into the morning!

Roller Skating!

So, I know most of you used to roller skate in grade school with your friends and boyfriends, listening to the best 80's music and dancing, dancing, dancing! Well, guess what!?! You still can! I went with Steffe, Tom and Jonathan to adult skate night and had a blast. I even wore those old brown skates with the bright orange wheels and laces - FUN! As you can tell from the pictures, my balance wasn't that great, but it got better through the night and will be even better next time I go!

Velvet Green Bags

A friend of Scott's, Josh makes the most awesome handbags and other types of bags. He hasn't made any in a while, but I was at his place and saw a bunch that he has that are awesome! Check out his website to see more - www.velvetgreenbags.com - he can make them custom for you too. Contact him on his website - perfect for Xmas gifts! He has a really cute diaper bag that says 'Baby on Board' in Japanese - super cute!

Happy Halloween!

We had a Halloween party this year and as always, it was a blast. The costumes were great! I probably don't have everyone here, but you can see most of them.

Scott was a name tag! :D

In the middle is my neighbor, Miss Priss

And my personal favorite - the Three's Company crew!

Madonna with her newly adopted baby.

This one was cute - Dia del muerte

This is the same girl in two costumes - one a little more comfy for the later hours! :D

Tiff's Halloween Costumes throughout the years

Since the blog is only about a year old, I am adding pictures of my costumes for the last 6 years. Halloween is my favorite holiday and I absolutely love to dress up.

This year, I was Pippi Longstocking. Everyone loved the costume because it brought back memories of their childhoods.

Last year I was a house plant. Random? I know.

In 2004, I was Mary Catherine Gallagher from Saturday Night Live and Superstar. "Sometimes, when I get real nervous...."

In 2003, I was Ozzy Osbourne.

In 2002, I was a tacky tourist.

In 2001, I was Jelly in the duo of peanut butter and jelly.

In 2000, the first year I got out of California, I was a genie.
