Engagement is FUN!
We're so excited to be engaged - still! :-) Our good friend, Jo took engagement pictures of us and as all her pictures do, they turned out great. It was super fun taking them too - we had no idea what to do, but it kept us laughing. Here are a few favorites for you to enjoy.

Happy 1st Birthday, Cole!
Today Cole turned 1 and I went out to help celebrate. He is just as cute as always and those eyes don't ever change (or the adorable hair!) Bailie was there to celebrate too and she just gets prettier and prettier everytime I see her (didn't think it would be possible!). Mom and dad are going to have to keep those boys away soon (except for Cole).

SoCal Wildflowers!
Do we live in paradise, or what!?! I absolutely love this time of year. I become a bit of a hermit in the winter anyway and start to come out of it in Feb and March and then everything starts to turn green here and there are blooms everywhere and lots of sun and Santa Ana warm winds and... I'm in heaven! Scott and I headed out to Anza Borrego again this year and found a field of yellow - it was beautiful! We went to a few other sites too and saw so many gorgeous flowers. There were also TONS of caterpillars - we had to watch where we walked so we wouldn't step on them - I would love to be there for the butterflies coming out, but I'm not sure when that is.

Winter Trip and Life
I'm very behind on blogging because we took an amazing vacation in January and I haven't even blogged about it! I knew it would take much too long to put together a full blog (I am planning a wedding, you know), so I loaded the pictures to Kodak Gallery and you can get them in the link below. Of course, the best picture (well, cheesiest) is loaded. :-)
We flew into Calgary, Alberta (in Canada if you weren't sure) and immediately went into Banff. We spent a few days there touring around and skiing. We then headed off to Kicking Horse where the boys (it was Scott, myself and two other guys) went skiing and I recovered from being sore. We then went to Revelstoke which was definitely the most amazing ski resort I have ever been to. I went on one run (of course the easiest) that was 10.5 miles long! This mountain is beautiful and no one knows about it so it's virtually empty - amazing! We then headed to the town of Nelson in British Columbia just to check it out. The last stop was in Jackson Hole, Wyoming because Brian, one of Scott's friends lives there and he was traveling with us. I absolutely love Jackson Hole and this time was no exception. The trip was great, except for me getting an aweful cold and having to travel with 3 boys the whole time. ;-) Great guys though, for sure.
Pictures from our trip
So, as far as life is concerned.... as you may have noticed from my last post, I'M ENGAGED!!!! It's looking like the wedding will be in early October, though we're trying to nail that down now. It's going to be a beach wedding at sunset and I can't wait! Scott is amazing and I feel very lucky to have found him and now be engaged to him! More on all of that later.

Merry Christmas 2008!
We had a wonderful Christmas here in San Diego and it was the first time I've hosted other people - I loved it! My turkey was a bit disastrous because the pan had a hole in it so what was supposed to be my super juicy slow-overnight-cooked turkey became a bit dryer (but not too bad) with all of its juices in the oven and on the floor. I saved it in the last hours (Thanks Nancy and Audrey!) and it was not too bad. The sweet potato casserole wasn't as good as it should've been because white sweet potatoes have a bit of a funny taste. Everything else was yummy though (especially Scott's stuffing!) We (Scott, Craig and I) got Rock Band from their parents for Christmas, so we spent much of the afternoon playing. Houston was with us and loved dancing while we played and even playing drums himself! Oh, here's a picture here because you have to check out Scott's mom's adorable Christmas slippers - I loved them! Also, the two boys (Scott's brother and dad) did not fall asleep on couches on the same night, but it was funny nonetheless that I caught them both.

Sea World and the Zoo
Scott's parents were here the week of Christmas and it was so nice and relaxing not to have to travel anywhere ourselves! We also got to do fun touristy things that we don't do often enough living here. Included.... Sea World and the Zoo (separate days of course!). Both visits were wonderful and the animals all behaved lovely for us! The zoo was especially exciting because Scott and I go at least a few times a year and this time the animals were way more active than usual! This includes Pandas (with the baby - a big bundle of joy!), Koalas (another baby!), Polar Bears, HUGE rat-eating birds (actually called a Harpy Eagle and they can eat monkeys!), wild cats etc. At Sea World, my favorite was that the dolphins would come up to the window and talk to us - really talk to us! Hopefully you can hear it in the video. You HAVE to watch the videos (there are two because Movie Maker was being a pain) especially if you have kids - they show all the best things from Sea World and the Zoo all in just a few minutes!! :-) Oh, if anyone has an idea what plant that Scott's mom and dad are standing in front of, let me know - it was Scott's mom's favorite, but I'm not sure what it is.
